Technical Implementation Guides
Justice Counts has designed an innovative approach to how agencies can configure the definition of each metric and breakdown to align with their agency’s specific operations and functions. For each metric, Justice Counts proposes a preferred definition, sharing frequency, and time period from which agencies can draw. However, each of these elements is customizable, allowing agencies to either align to a national definition or make adjustments that more accurately reflect local realities. When agencies onboard into the Justice Counts digital infrastructure, these configurations are saved as metadata that are displayed in data visualizations and help identify cohorts of similarly situated agencies to learn from.
To ensure as much flexibility and usability as possible, more than 400 practitioners in the field were consulted on the content of the technical implementation guides. If you have questions or additional suggestions about the guides, please email justicecounts@csg.org.
